In the year Jim along with Sasha Allen made it onto The Voice Live Shows, they were able to make history since Sasha is the first transgender person on the NBC show that made it through in the Battle Rounds in the entire 21 seasons of the show. The duo, are from Newtown, Conn., have taken the show one step higher to make it into the top 8! Sasha declared that he's transgender in their Blind Auditions package. He told Parade.com it took some thought in making that choice. Sasha said it was hard to decide because he had to showcase a fragile side of himself thousands and millions of people. It was when the time was when he was in high school. The fans' support as well as the effects that this affected people despite the fact that the choice was difficult it was what ultimately made Sasha that the transition was worthy. The Voice wasn't even around in the moment we performed this song. When we received it, we were delighted. It was a song we already knew, and we had many plans to put it together. It was quite amazing that the crowd had hit the nail right on the head."
